Driving Change: How Autism Support of Imperial County is Fueling a Community

In the heart of the Imperial Valley, where the desert sun meets a vibrant, determined community, Autism Support of Imperial County (ASIC) stands as a true beacon of hope, advocacy, and action. With a mission rooted in love, inclusion, and empowerment, ASIC has spent decades transforming lives—one child, one family, and one event at a time.

At Unified Esports League, we’re honored to stand alongside them as partners in purpose, dedicated to uplifting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across San Diego and Imperial Counties. Today, we’re thrilled to highlight the incredible work ASIC is doing, and to invite you to join us in celebrating their next unforgettable event: Cruise for Autism, a one-of-a-kind car show that brings connection, awareness, and joy to the streets of El Centro.

Who Is Autism Support of Imperial County?

Founded by families, for families, ASIC is a non-profit organization that provides essential support, advocacy, education, and resources to individuals and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder in Imperial County. Their mission? To support all children, teens, and adults on the autism spectrum—regardless of diagnosis status—and to be a guiding light for parents and caregivers navigating the complexities of IDD support.

Whether a family is facing the early questions of a new diagnosis or seeking community years into their journey, ASIC is there—with heart, with knowledge, and with open arms. Their work isn’t transactional—it’s transformational. Through individualized support, peer connection, and public education, they’re building a more inclusive and empowered Imperial Valley.

What Does ASIC Do?

ASIC offers a wide range of life-changing services and resources to the local community, including:

💜 Parent Support Groups – Offering a safe space to ask questions, share experiences, and gain strength from others who understand

💜 Education Workshops + Advocacy Resources – Helping families understand IEPs, Regional Center access, and state resources

💜 Community Events + Celebrations – Bringing families together through fun, inclusive, and events that celebrate neurodiversity

💜 Sensory-Friendly Activities – Creating experiences that are safe, supportive, and tailored for children on the autism spectrum

One of the most beautiful aspects of ASIC is their commitment to serving ALL families, whether or not they have an official diagnosis. Early support can be life-changing, and ASIC understands that families deserve help at every stage of their journey.

A Partnership That Powers Possibility

At Unified Esports League (UESL), we believe that partnerships rooted in heart and purpose are the most powerful kind. That’s why we’re beyond proud to collaborate with Autism Support of Imperial County, whose tireless work has made them a pillar of support in the region.

Through their advocacy and our own mission to bring inclusive gaming and technology programs to IDD youth, we’re building a stronger, more connected support system across Southern California. Together, we’re reminding families that they are seen, supported, and never alone.
