Celebrating the Grand Opening of 8th Unified Gaming + Technology Arena
A Day to Remember. A Future to Believe In.
There are days that feel like milestones—and then there are days that become movement markers. The grand opening of our 8th Unified Gaming + Technology Arena at the incredible TERI Campus of Life in San Marcos was both.
On this unforgettable afternoon, the Unified Esports League (UESL) was honored to open the doors to our newest location—a vibrant, welcoming space designed to celebrate neurodiversity, creativity, and the power of community connection through video games and cutting-edge technology.
But more than that, it marked the start of a beautiful partnership between UESL, TERI Inc., and the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC), grounded in a shared commitment to support IDD individuals and families in San Marcos and across San Diego County.
Gratitude for the Ones Who Made It Possible
We are deeply grateful to TERI Campus of Life for sharing their space, vision, and belief in the work we do. To Cheryl Kilmer, CEO + Founder of TERI Inc., who shared her hopes that this new arena becomes a place where the community can walk in, feel like it belongs to them, and be proud of what’s inside—we say: thank you. Your words and leadership inspire us.
To Mark Klaus, Executive Director of the San Diego Regional Center, who reminded us all that listening to the IDD community and providing resources they’re genuinely excited about is what real progress looks like—we are thankful for your continued trust and partnership.
To our founder Matthew Iske, who has never stopped believing in the life-changing potential of video games for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—thank you for leading with purpose and heart.
And finally, to the incredible UESL gamers, families, and staff who joined us to welcome new faces into our community—thank you for showing up and showing what inclusion, support, and joy look like in action. Watching seasoned UESL gamers help new players find their stations, spark friendships, and light up the room with laughter was a sight we’ll never forget.
The Energy Was Electric
The arena was buzzing—joy, excitement, curiosity, and pride filled the air as families toured the space, clients jumped into games, and coaches guided new players through our state-of-the-art stations.
From racing simulators to adaptive controllers, it was a living showcase of what’s possible when community and technology work together for good.
A Technological Leap Forward: Logitech x UESL Partnership
We are also proud to announce a groundbreaking new partnership with Logitech, a leader in gaming and innovation.
Thanks to their incredible generosity, our San Marcos location now includes:
Flight simulator technology
Sim racing wheels + pedals
High-performance gaming mice + keyboards
Assistive tools that support clients of all abilities
This partnership is a huge step forward in showing how technology—when paired with thoughtful design and a supportive learning environment—can help individuals with special needs thrive, explore, and grow.
The San Marcos Unified Arena now stands as one of the most technologically advanced UESL locations to date, setting a new benchmark for inclusive gaming + education experiences in the IDD community.
Our Community Is Growing—And So Is the Opportunity
We’re more excited than ever to grow our community at the TERI Campus of Life and beyond. To every new family we met, every smile we saw, and every handshake we shared—thank you. This isn’t just the opening of a building. It’s the opening of new friendships, new possibilities, and a brighter future for all.
