Meet The Location Partners Behind UNIFIED Technology Centers
Building More Than Locations — Building Opportunity, Belonging + Community
A UNIFIED Technology Center begins with a physical space.
But what grows inside that space can become so much bigger.
Across San Diego + Imperial Counties, UESL Location Partners are opening their doors so that individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities can have greater access to technology, friendship, teamwork, skill development + meaningful community connection.
The UNIFIED Esports League is a technology + life skills program providing social + emotional growth for the IDD community. Helping individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities build confidence, friendships, + real-world skills in a safe, coach supported environment.
As a San Diego Regional Center-approved vendor, UESL serves individuals ages 8 through adult at locations throughout San Diego + Imperial Counties. Our programming combines gaming, technology exploration, individualized goals, health + wellness, structured social opportunities + the experience of belonging to a real team.
Our Location Partners help make that access possible.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A UNIFIED LOCATION PARTNER?
A UNIFIED Location Partner does more than provide a room.
They help create a local access point for connection, growth + opportunity.
By welcoming a UNIFIED Technology Center into their space, Location Partners help bring structured technology + life skills programming closer to the families who need it.
That can mean shorter drives for parents + guardians, new social opportunities for people who may have struggled to find their community, greater exposure to technology + a place where an individual’s interests are treated as strengths that can become pathways toward growth.
UESL brings the program structure, coaching, curriculum, technology, team experience + individualized support. Our Location Partners provide something equally valuable: a place for those opportunities to take root within the communities they serve.
Together, UESL + our Location Partners can transform an available space into a place where someone makes a friend, discovers a new interest, learns to navigate winning + losing, practices communication, explores technology, takes on leadership + realizes:
I have a team here. I belong here.

Here, success may be loud — winning a match, celebrating with a teammate or mastering new technology.
It may also be wonderfully quiet.
Choosing to join a group activity. Asking someone to play. Staying with a challenging task a little longer. Recovering after losing. Offering encouragement to someone else.
A supportive Location Partner gives those moments somewhere to happen consistently — until individual moments begin becoming real-world skills.

As a UESL Location Partner, San Ysidro Middle School is helping create another place where individuals with IDD can experience connection, exploration + growth.
And this new UNIFIED team has been given an important job:
Creating its own identity.
At UESL, team names + mascots are more than branding. San Ysidro clients are being invited to participate in choosing theirs, creating opportunities to practice communication, collaboration, creativity, listening + shared decision-making.
Eventually, there will be a mascot.
There will be jerseys.
There will be competitions, memories, inside jokes + traditions.
But first, there is the experience of building something together.
That is where belonging starts.

Like other new UNIFIED locations, future clients will have the opportunity to help develop a team identity that belongs to their community.

It means another group of IDD gamers receiving the opportunity to say:
This is our team.

As a future UESL Location Partner, this setting creates an exciting backdrop for a program built around exploration.
At UESL, clients may engage with PCs, consoles, VR, simulation, coding, graphic design + other technologies based on their goals, interests + individualized program structure.
Those experiences can create an important progression:
An interest can become a skill.
A skill can build confidence.
And confidence can change what someone believes is possible for their future.
WHAT EVERY LOCATION PARTNER HELPS MAKE POSSIBLE
Look across our network of Location Partners and the spaces may appear very different.
A high school.
A middle school.
An elementary campus.
An organization dedicated to supporting the IDD community.
A college technology institute.
Different communities. Different buildings. Different histories.
But inside every UNIFIED Technology Center, the goal remains consistent.
UESL provides individualized, coach-supported opportunities for individuals with IDD to:
Build confidence
Make real friendships
Practice communication + teamwork
Explore gaming + technology
Develop problem-solving skills
Navigate winning, losing + emotional regulation
Practice leadership + collaboration
Participate in healthy movement + wellness routines
Work toward individualized goals
Experience the pride + belonging of being part of a team
Our 1:3 coach-to-client ratio helps provide the individualized support clients need, while each client’s Individualized Technology Education Plan (ITEP) helps connect their interests + technology experiences with meaningful personal goals.
Our Healthy Gamer movement breaks reinforce another important part of the UNIFIED experience: Healthy Body + Healthy Mind = Good Gamer.
Technology may help bring clients through the door.
But friendship, confidence, belonging + progress are what we hope they carry back out into the world.
And every Location Partner helps give those experiences a place to happen.
COULD YOUR ORGANIZATION BECOME THE NEXT UNIFIED LOCATION PARTNER?
UESL is continuing to grow.
And we are looking for future Location Partners who believe their communities deserve more opportunities for inclusion, connection, technology education + meaningful skill development.
Schools, colleges + mission-aligned organizations can help create those opportunities by exploring what it could mean to become a UNIFIED Location Partner.
You do not need to become an esports expert.
You need a willingness to help create access.
UESL brings the program structure, coaching, technology-centered curriculum, individualized programming + team experience.
Together, we can explore how your location + the UNIFIED program could create new opportunities for the IDD community you serve.
Becoming a UESL Location Partner can help:
Expand local IDD services + resources
Bring structured social + recreational opportunities into your community
Create meaningful programming for individuals ages 8 through adult
Increase access to gaming + emerging technologies
Give individuals with IDD a safe place to build friendships
Connect families to a larger UNIFIED network across San Diego + Imperial Counties
Create opportunities for confidence, communication + real-world skill development
Transform available space into a place of learning, belonging + possibility
Most importantly, your organization can help create a place where someone who has been searching for their people finally finds them.
HELP US BUILD THE NEXT UNIFIED TEAM
Maybe the next UNIFIED Eagles, Cosmic Dogs, Suns, Flying Squirrels, Bears, Arctic Foxes — or an entirely new team that has not even chosen its name yet — could begin at your location.
It starts with a conversation.
If your school, college or organization is interested in becoming a Location Partner and helping expand access to technology + life skills programming for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, we would love to hear from you.

LET’S LEVEL-UP TOGETHER!
Because when Location Partners share their space, resources + belief in what individuals with IDD can accomplish, we do more than open Technology Centers.
We open doors to friendship.
We open doors to confidence.
We open doors to skills.
We open doors to belonging.
We open doors to what comes next.
And we are ready to open the next one together.
